Ann Yu, the creative mind behind this project, drew inspiration from abstract designs such as "deconstruction", "fragmentation", and "rhythm". These concepts were used to break the solidification synaesthesia of business space, resulting in a unique retail environment that is as much an art installation as it is a store.
What sets "Urben Revivo Art" apart from other retail spaces is its innovative approach to commercial design. Rather than adhering to traditional business functions, Yu has created a space that encourages exploration and curiosity. It could be a concert, an art exhibition, a product conference, or an ordinary item - in this context, the abstract "unknown" is full of possibilities.
Spanning 240 square meters, the store was completed in June 2016 in Chengdu, China. It has been described as a "Life Museum" and an "Exhibition", keywords that encapsulate the essence of Yu's design philosophy. The space is not just a place to shop, but a venue for cultural and artistic expression.
Yu's work on "Urben Revivo Art" has not gone unnoticed in the design community. In 2017, the project was awarded the Golden A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category. This award is granted to "marvelous, outstanding, and trendsetting creations that reflect the designer's prodigy and wisdom", embodying extraordinary excellence and significantly impacting the world with their desirable characteristics.
In conclusion, "Urben Revivo Art" is more than just a retail space. It is a testament to the power of design to transform the mundane into the extraordinary, to challenge our perceptions, and to inspire us to see the world in new and exciting ways. As we move forward, we can only expect to see more innovative and inspiring designs from Ann Yu.
